Let’s Be Honest You’ve Been Here Before
Grabbing chocolate or crisps in the car on the way home.
Saying “I’ll be good tomorrow” on repeat, even when you know it won’t stick.
Eating “perfectly” all day… then overeating chocolate and sugar at night.
Waking up bloated, ashamed, and already planning your next reset.
Starting every Monday full of hope – and giving up by Thursday because life got in the way (again)
Eating in secret and hiding the evidence from your partner or family.
Constantly doing a never ending analysis in your head over what you can and can’t eat, based on what you’ve already eaten today and how many calories you burned off today.
You keep telling yourself you should “know better.”
But knowing better isn’t the problem. You already know what to eat, you just don’t do it.
When I started as a health coach, I thought binge eating/emotional eating only affected a small group of people and maybe just something I had struggled with.
But each woman I worked with had some version of the exact same discussion. It didn’t matter if they had a diagnosed binge eating disorder or just found themselves grazing on biscuits all day and then being annoyed with themselves.
They all followed the same cycle.
Decide you need to lose weight
You see a pic of yourself, or a reflection in the window, or you just feel uncomfortable in your body. You decide it’s time to do something about it.
The diet
You go on a diet (or a sugar detox, clean eating, eating healthy) and at first you feel good. Maybe you lose weight and the compliments come in. “You look great.” You feel accomplished and in control.
Deprivation
Then it starts to wear on you. You think about food all the time, you negotiate with yourself (if I eat this now, I can have that later) and you can’t stop thinking about those biscuits in the cupboard (sometimes you eat them just to stop thinking about them!)
The binge
Then comes the “Well, I’ve blown it now, I may as well eat what I want” or “I don’t care anymore” rebellion and you eat until you feel uncomfortably full. Or maybe it’s not a binge, but you go overboard and eat whatever you want.
Shame
Then the guilt kicks in. “Why am I so disgusting?” “What’s wrong with me?” You’re convinced there’s something wrong with you, so off to Google it is, and here you are…
If you are anything like my clients, you have been going round in this cycle for 10, 20 or even 30 plus years.
Diet culture makes women think they are the problem. That they lack willpower. But they’re not.
Trying harder, being stricter or starting again on Monday doesn’t fix it. It feeds the cycle, because willpower was never what was missing.
The overeating, the binge, falling off the wagon (whatever you call it) is a normal response to restricting food and diet rules.
The diet rules, wellness plans, clean eating… they weren’t the solution. They were contributing to the food noise and overeating.
But that wasn’t all…
They were also carrying huge mental loads. Most were mums or had stressful jobs, doing the majority of the childcare, cooking, cleaning and school runs, often alongside full time work, doing everything for everyone else and skipping lunch because they were too busy.
Carrying the mental load.
They’d come home after a long day and food had become their coping mechanism. Their treat or reward for getting through the day.
They were so used to it they wouldn’t even say they were stressed. It had just become the norm.
Food was their only escape, the only thing they had for themselves, and sometimes part of them didn’t want to give it up. They wanted to change, but another part didn’t (and that’s completely normal).
That’s why I trained to specialise in emotional and binge eating and why I developed my own health coaching support package for women struggling with binge eating, emotional eating or yo yo dieting.
Because there is nothing wrong with you.
Most women struggle with food in the same way; they just don’t talk about it, and diet culture (even wellness culture) and the mental load women carry are all contributing.
My Emotional & Binge Eating Health Coaching package helps you change all that in a way that is built to last, not just until the novelty wears off.
Overcoming emotional eating, binge eating or yo yo dieting takes a different approach.
Many women come to me having tried therapy or counselling. Maybe they’ve found WHY they emotionally eat, but they still do it (that’s really common) because there are 2 parts to this and therapy only covers one.
Some have seen a nutritionist or dietitian & know WHAT to eat, they just can’t do it consistently.
And some have tried general health coaches but still feel stuck, because most don’t understand what causes emotional eating or yo yo dieting. They think you just need “healthy habits” that are really diet rules in disguise, which actually reinforces the cycle.
My Emotional & Binge Eating Health Coaching package is different.
Diets fuel the cycle. Therapy covers one part. Knowing what to eat isn’t the same as doing it. And “healthy habits” are often diet rules in disguise. This package is built to cover both parts.
It’s designed to target both the physiological & psychological parts of your struggles with food, with long term support.
physiological
too much restriction & unbalanced blood sugar
skipping breakfast
too busy to eat lunch
awkward shift patterns
psychological
food becomes your only escape or reward
taking too much of the mental load
boredom
little autonomy over your life
your struggles with food
Here’s how it works.
The first thing we start with is restriction and blood sugar.
A big cause of overeating, binging & grazing all day is too much restriction & unbalanced blood sugar.
That could be a low calorie or fasting diet, a “healthy meal plan” OR simply not eating regularly enough. Skipping breakfast, too busy for lunch, awkward shift patterns, it can all drop your blood sugar, and then you’re craving sugar or overeating later to make up for it. So we start by tweaking your routine & meal timings so you’re eating regularly through the day.
I’ve coached working mums, stay at home mums, nurses, teachers, dog walkers…
Everyone’s routine is different, so we look at where you struggle to eat regularly & build practical routines that make meal prep & cooking as simple as possible, reducing your mental load.
No diets. No diets disguised as meal plans either.
Food you actually enjoy, not just what you think you ‘should’ eat. Because if it’s too much effort, or you won’t enjoy it, it’s not going to work.
Second, we look at what’s causing you to reach for food.
Many women think this needs therapy, and for some that’s beneficial alongside, BUT for most of my clients the reasons aren’t rooted in the past. They’re in the here and now.
Taking on too much of the mental load & feeling overwhelmed, so food becomes your only escape or reward. Boredom, home alone with an endless list of chores. Feeling like you have little autonomy over your life, so food becomes your way to rebel in secret.
I’ve heard it all, so don’t worry. Many women don’t even notice until we start working together.
For many women, food has become the automatic response to these emotions, and it’s spent years ingraining itself so it’s hard to break.
Together we identify where you use food to cope, break down the habit & reduce the mental load behind it. If food is your treat because you feel unappreciated, we reduce the pressure & make tweaks that give you the breathing space you need, so you’re not barely keeping your head above water.
But my coaching is grounded in reality.
Life throws us all curve balls, so I also teach you practical tools you can use in the moment when a craving or the urge to binge comes up.
The good news is, as my clients let go of diet rules, fix their meal timing & routines, ease the pressure they put on themselves & work towards body acceptance, the cravings become less frequent & less urgent, and if they do reach for food they eat far less & it doesn’t last.
The food noise quietens down & they can start living life instead of obsessing over food & weight.
The Emotional & Binge Eating Health Coaching package is 14 sessions over 5 months with in between session support.
The problem with most programmes is they start off well because of the initial motivation & excitement of starting something new. I call this the honeymoon phase. The sessions are structured, 8 weekly then 6 fortnightly, so you can put what you learn into your day to day life, see what comes up & work through obstacles instead of throwing in the towel. That gets you past the honeymoon phase & creates lasting change rather than yet another thing that doesn’t work.
Many of my clients feared they’d go back to square one once the sessions stopped, because they wouldn’t have the accountability. That’s not how it worked out. Because the support ran over 5 months, their new ways of eating and thinking were well established before the sessions ended, and they had the tools to handle anything that came up.
As I tell all my clients, I don’t drop off the edge of a cliff when the sessions finish.
You can add sessions (typically no one needs them) and I’m always available by email or direct message. I regularly keep in touch after sessions, which is how I know this really does help women in the long term.
The Emotional & Binge Eating Health Coaching package is for you if:
- You are fed up of things starting well and then finding yourself slipping back into old habits once the novelty wears off.
- You have spent years on and off diets and are fed up of always starting over.
- You want to be able to live your life without constantly thinking about food all the time.
- You struggle with either binge or emotional eating OR you have spent years yo yo dieting.
This is not for you if:
- You have been diagnosed with bulimia or anorexia (these require medical treatment).
- You are not willing to try new things.
- You want medical treatment.
- You are wanting a diet or to be told what to eat.
Real women. Real results.
Here's what my clients say
“Life Changing”
Binge eating had been something I'd done for 30 years and I had tried so many different ways to stop it – acupuncture, hypnotherapy, counselling, reading many many books, 'quitting sugar' – to name a few, but they never worked and I was back to binge eating again.
After years and years of trying and deep down knowing I would be stuck like this forever, I found Sarah and although I was enthusiastic, I didn't really think I could be helped.
Now, 6 months on, I can say I haven't binge eaten for months! The freedom I feel having chocolate in the house and not wanting to scoff it down, and going out for a meal and deciding whether or not I feel like dessert, has been surprising and utterly amazing!
Sarah is very supportive and kind, she walked me through each step of the process and helped me understand the underlying issues as to why I was doing this and tools to help me change. The whole process has been life changing and I am so grateful to Sarah. Not only has she helped me change this 30 year habit, it was during the toughest time in my life personally and her process still worked! I 100% recommend Sarah to anyone struggling with binge/emotional eating.

“I saw a reduction in my binge eating after only a few weeks”
Sarah was easy to talk to and understood me in a way others just didn't, she really gets exactly what you are going through. Before, when I have done stuff to try stop I start well but go back to binging again. Sarah explained why and I had never ever heard anyone explain binge eating before in the way she does. I have now overcome binge eating and have only had one episode in a whole year. I used to binge eat daily. I felt confident on my wedding day, which is exactly what I wanted.

“This programme has completely changed things for me”
I honestly didn't think anything would help at this point. I'd been stuck in a cycle of yo yo dieting for more than 30 years. Six months later and I'm not binge eating anymore. I can have food in the house for my kids and not feel like I'm going to eat all of it. I'm also a lot less stressed and snappy, which has made a big difference at home. I feel like I can deal with life much better, and I've even lost weight without really trying.

About me
I’m Sarah, a Health Coach specialising in Emotional & Binge Eating, and I’m also a fan of people living their lives & having fun instead of agonising over food.
I’m based in West Yorkshire but work with women all over the UK (& even outside the UK).
My style is relaxed, informal & non judgmental.
You’re already judging yourself & beating yourself up; you certainly don’t need to pay someone to do more of the same.
I’ve seen everything going, not just from my clients but in my own life (I’ve struggled with emotional eating myself & life has thrown me a fair few curveballs too!), so I don’t judge. Everyone has their demons & we are all just trying to do the best we can.
I LOVE my job & I LOVE health coaching. It’s such an undervalued profession here in the UK, but health coaching is the missing piece for so many. Most of us know what we should or shouldn’t be doing; we just don’t DO it. Health coaching closes that gap.
I’m an independent health coach. I work for myself. I’m not a corporate company & I’m not part of one. My clients aren’t just a number to me. I care about each & every one of them & about making sure they get the outcome they want from working with me.
When I’m not coaching you’ll definitely find me with a cat! Either one of my 5 cats (Mindy, Ivy, Oscar, Sophie & Freddie) or with one of my foster cats. And if I’m not with them I’ll be taking a cat back & forth from the vets since I also founded & run The Cat House Rescue in West Yorkshire.
I love all animals & talking about ditching dieting (my 2 passions in life!)
If you want professional support for your emotional or binge eating that works long term (not just while it’s new & you’re motivated) with someone who’s been in your shoes & won’t judge, then I’d love to help you.
