Your Step By Step Guide: What happens in a health coaching discovery call?

If you’ve ever wondered what happens when you book in for a discovery call then this is for you. I’m going to take you behind the scenes of how I do discovery calls with people who might be interested in learning more about working with me 1:1 in my Mind & Body Transformation Programme.

What is a discovery call?

Free call, discovery call, health history session, coffee chat & many other names to describe what is essentially all the same thing.

These calls are usually 15-30 minutes long. This is the opportunity for you to ask questions, get a taste of what coaching is and see if the coaches style is the right fit for you. Not every coach will be a fit for you and that’s ok. It doesn’t mean that the coach isn’t any good or you won’t benefit from coaching. We all have different personalities and we fit with certain people better than others. You should never feel pressured to buy into anything when on a discovery call! The call is there to enable you to get the info for YOU to make the right decision for YOU.

Why do I offer a free discovery call?

Working with a health coach is a big decision. The women who come to me for help are struggling and have already tried to fix their problems alone but for various reasons they haven’t been able to. By getting on a free call first I can get to know you and understand the struggles you have, where you want to go and show you a step by step action plan to help you get there. For example, some women come to me thinking they need my 3 month coaching package but when we talk it through we find what they are actually struggling with is meal planning. Once I know this I can direct them towards my Meal Planning for ADHD Women Session instead. A call gives me as the coach the opportunity to understand your needs first before you sign up. This way you don’t waste your money on something you may not need or might not be the right fit for you.

What happens in a discovery call?

Upon booking in for a free call you will be sent an email confirming your appointment along with some quick questions about you, where you are and what you are looking to get out of  coaching. If you are ever unsure what to put, don’t worry. You can’t answer any of these questions wrong. They are there so I can be prepared before a session so we are getting the most out of our time together.

The call itself will be done via video call on Zoom (you can have video switched off if that’s more comfortable for you). I will start off by asking questions so I can understand your struggles and what you are hoping to get from coaching. These questions are designed to get you thinking and digging deeper so we can get to the root cause of your struggles.  A lot of women come into these sessions thinking they want or are struggling with one thing, only to discover that is just masking a much deeper issue. That’s why these questions are so powerful & give you so much clarity.

I will then explain to you about coaching and how it could help you with the specific areas of your life that you want to work on. This step by step plan is unique to you as we will be working together 1:1. You are welcome to ask any questions you like at this point too.

If you decide coaching would be beneficial & would like to go ahead with the plan then we can get the first of your sessions booked in & together we will start your mind & body transformation journey together. If you need more time to think then that’s more than ok too. I will send you a summary of our call and a link with an option to sign up if you wish to do so. If you decide it’s not the right option for you, that is absolutely ok too, no hard feelings. Ultimately, this is your decision to make and you will not be pressured into anything.

How do I book a discovery call?

You can book your free call online here. Calls are done online via Zoom and you will receive an email with a link to join the call at the time of your appointment. Calls are 15-30 minutes long. If you don’t see a time you can do then just shoot me an email to [email protected] and I will see if there is anything I can juggle to accommodate you.

Who are discovery calls for?

Calls are for women in the UK, US or Canada with ADHD (diagnosed or those who identify with the symptoms) who are struggling to lose weight, meal planning or both and are interested in 1:1 coaching with my Mind & Body Transformation Coaching Package.

Discovery calls are free. Prices for my 1:1 coaching packages start at £600/$790 for 3 months of coaching via 1:1 sessions on Zoom, voice & text support between sessions and additional resources. 3 month payment plans are available of £200/$275 per installment. Prices are increasing after the 19th September (To secure a spot at this pricing then make sure you have booked your free call before the 19th September to secure the current pricing & save £190!)

It’s normal to be a bit nervous about booking in a discovery call and all coaches approach them a bit differently. I hope this has answered some of your questions and given you an insight into how I run my free calls & why. There is really nothing to be nervous about & there is no pressure.
