Why September is the Perfect Time to Start Your Transformation

Did you know that January isn’t the busiest time of year in the diet & fitness industry?

Seriously!

Given that you can’t move in January for adverts flogging diet plans and weight loss aids it comes as a surprise to learn that SEPTEMBER is actually the most popular time to start trying to lose weight.

Why is this? Well, according to research one of the most common reasons for women is being unhappy with their holiday pics. Not liking what they see, many women decide to make a change.

A Fresh Start

As September starts we enter a new season, refreshed from Summer & holidays, kids back at school it feels like time to get to work again.

Better Weather

In September the weather is much warmer than January. No risks of getting disrupted by snow & ice or the shorter & darker days crushing your motivation.

Give yourself a head start

By starting now it gives you a massive head start on everyone else. Having been making changes to help you lose weight from September you will have already nailed in the foundations you need to lose weight & already be seeing huge results before you go into the New Year. By starting in September, you can sit back at New Year knowing you already have a plan in place and don’t need to panic with crazy detox diets or blow your money on the latest fad diet.

Confidence boost for the holidays

By starting now instead of waiting until January you will start seeing results before the holiday season gets into full swing. Visiting family and Christmas parties can bring with them their own level  of self consciousness, and by already having started new exercise habits and eating habits you will be seeing those results both physically and mentally so you can have that extra bit of self confidence when seeing family and friends.

Receive support over the holiday season

By starting in programmes such as Mind & Body Transformation in September you can ensure you have 1:1 support from an expert over the holiday season. This is invaluable, because so many things crop up over the Christmas party season and having guidance and support along the way will mean you learn new habits & tools to use over this time. Even better, once you’ve learned these behaviours you can use them again and again.

Especially important for women with ADHD…

When you have ADHD, it can be very easy to procrastinate on making changes to lose weight. It can feel overwhelming, self doubt can kick in & you can end up saying you’ll start when work is less busy, when you feel a bit better, when you’ve (insert latest reason here).

I get it, making changes to the way you live is a huge challenge & it’s hard when you’re on your own. I know because I have been in your shoes.

But by putting it off, even for a few weeks or months, you lose out on the energy of a fresh start  & new season. You start getting closer to Christmas (which seems to get earlier every year or is it just me!), life gets even busier with gifts to buy, family to see and it becomes all too easy to put things off once more & say you will start in the New Year.

But you could have made huge strides forward in that time. Last year, clients who started Mind & Body Transformation with me in September were so excited to see they had lost weight in the run up to the holidays rather than gaining it! They then had that boost of motivation from their results to sail through the New Year & keep up the momentum.

Overall, September is a brilliant time to start your transformation. Taking advantage of the kids being back at school, back into a more normal routine, the energy of a new season & fresh start & the still warmer weather will give you a head start before the night draws in, the weather gets colder & the holiday season kicks off.

When you have the right support, system & tools – that acknowledges the unique challenges women with ADHD face – then losing weight & keeping it off becomes so much easier. And, you will feel so much more in control & confident so you can cruise into the New Year while everyone else panics and moans about the x mas pounds piling on.
